Individual category nominations are open to British Bangladeshis only. Business categories are open to any businesses that can demonstrate that a significant proportion of their customers are British Bangladeshis. As British Bangladeshis we use the services of businesses from all different backgrounds and nationalities and we want to recognise these businesses, irrespective of the ethnic background. They will be judged like all the other categories by our judges made of prominent British Bangladeshis and the community through the public voting and opinions process.
Nominations received by 2nd February 2019 will go through to a shortlisting process – 3-5 nominees will be shortlisted in each category as finalists.
Those nominated will be contacted to see if they accept the nomination and if so, given an opportunity to submit additional information to be used by the judges in their deliberations.
The finalists will be put out to a test of public opinion on our social media sites – Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Members of the public will be able to vote for their favourite finalists and leave comments on why they believe the person/business should win. An independent judging panel will then assess all the nominations, including the additional materials provided by nominees, and the public opinion & votes to then decide the winner for each category. To ensure impartiality, no members of BBFC will be involved in the judging process and all judges will be required to declare any conflicts of interests and then abstain from the judging process of the category in which the conflict has arisen.
By submitting this form you agree to the terms and rules for entry and declare that all facts and figures contained within are accurate and true and that permission to enter has been given by all involved parties.
You can enter as many categories as you like. All entries must be made using the online entry form. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. No employee/volunteer of BBFC or their families can enter. Awards sponsors cannot enter the category they are sponsoring.
